Why a Call Light Beats a Better Webcam
Most people look tired on video calls because the light is behind them or above them, not because their webcam is bad. A light in front of the face fixes that. Logitech’s listing describes balanced, full-spectrum LED light (its TrueSoft technology) and a frameless diffuser that spreads wide, soft light to avoid harsh shadows. For someone on camera every day, that is a bigger upgrade than a new webcam, at a lower price.
Brightness and color temperature are adjustable, from warm to cool, so the light can match a room lit by a window in the morning and a lamp in the evening. The free Logitech G HUB app adds on-screen control and saved presets, but the light works plugged in without it.
The 3-Way Monitor Mount
The Litra Glow sits on a clip mount that adjusts in height, tilt and rotation, so it can sit above the webcam on a desktop monitor or a laptop lid. It takes power over USB, so there is no separate power brick on the desk.
Limitations and Compromises
The Amazon listing does not publish a lumen figure or the exact color-temperature range, so we can’t compare its output number for number with ring lights. It is one small panel: in a dark room it lights a face, not the whole background. And it needs a free USB port near the screen; on a laptop with only two ports, that is worth checking before you wrap it.
Setup and Care
Clip the mount to the top of the monitor, plug the light into a USB port and adjust the angle so it points at the face from just above the camera. Install G HUB only if you want presets.
Who Should Buy It?
- Someone who spends hours a day on video calls
- A remote worker whose desk faces away from the window
- Streamers, podcasters and online teachers on a budget
Skip it if they rarely turn the camera on; a monitor light bar lights the desk instead of the face. See every idea side by side in our best work from home gifts guide.
