About Us
SoftPickr is an independent review site for the gear people use every day at home: home office and desk equipment (office chairs, laptop and monitor stands, keyboards, mice and desk accessories), coffee and espresso gear, and everyday-carry flashlights.
What we publish
- Buying guides that compare several products for one specific need — for example the best vertical laptop stand or the best office chair for a tall person.
- Individual product reviews that explain what a product does well, where it falls short, and who should skip it.
How we research a product
We want to be clear about how our reviews are made. Our reviews are research-based: we do not run a test lab, and we do not claim to have used every product we write about. For each product we:
- read the manufacturer’s published specifications and documentation, and quote dimensions, weight limits and materials exactly as published — if a number isn’t published, we say so rather than guess;
- study large volumes of verified owner reviews to find the problems and strengths that come up again and again;
- check the current price and compare it with similar products in the same category;
- name at least one real compromise for every product, and the kind of buyer who should look elsewhere.
When we have physically used a product ourselves, the review says so.
How we make money
SoftPickr is free to read. We earn a commission when a reader buys through some of our links, and we may show advertising. As an Amazon Associate, SoftPickr earns from qualifying purchases. Commissions never cost you extra, and no brand pays to be included or to change a ranking. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
