A Nativity Scene Without the Figurines
Lighted nativity sets take up the lawn and a lot of storage. Treela’s projector throws nativity scene patterns instead, onto a door, a window, a hallway or a sheet of white gauze. It is the only pick in our comparison built for a religious display, and it pairs well with a simple laser or snowfall light on the rest of the house.
Plug In and Point
Setup is a stake in the ground or the stand base, then plug it in. Treela says the unit is waterproof for outdoor use, quiet indoors, and lightweight enough to move around. The LED light is described as soft on the eyes.
Best on a Door or Gauze
Because the listing talks about doors, windows and transparent gauze, this is a projector for a focused scene near the porch, not a whole-house wash. The farther you place it, the bigger the picture, but Treela does not publish a maximum distance.
Limitations and Compromises
The spec sheet is the thinnest in our comparison: no remote, no timer, no IP rating, no distance and no pattern count are published. Its 4.0 stars from 232 ratings is the lowest average here. Use an outdoor timer plug to switch it on and off.
Setup and Maintenance
Stake it a few feet in front of the door or window, plug it into an outdoor-rated timer, and adjust the distance until the scene fills the surface.
Who Should Buy It?
- You want a nativity scene as part of your Christmas display
- You want to project onto a door, window or white gauze
- You want to avoid storing a lawn nativity set
Look elsewhere if you want to cover the whole house front (the Star Shower or PEIDUO), or need a remote and a timer built in (the TOFU or DXstring).
SoftPickr Verdict
The Treela scores 7.6/10. It is the only nativity scene projector in our comparison and does that one job simply; everything else about it is left unstated in the listing. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $36.99 at the time of writing and the live listing is the only accurate source.
