Best For / Skip If
Best for: people who want a genuinely bright light that rides in a pocket every day, and like seeing runtime on a screen.
Skip if: you want something small and simple — our everyday carry and keychain flashlight guides have lighter options under $60.
Pocket Carry at 8,000 Lumens
The EDC37’s flat shape is what lets an 8,000-lumen light ride in a pocket. The OLED screen reads out the current output and the runtime left, which takes the guesswork out of how long a high mode will last. The maker calls the 8,000-lumen setting a burst mode, so expect it to step down.
Safety first: at these outputs the head and body get hot within minutes, and the beam can dazzle at long range. Never point it at people, animals, drivers or aircraft, keep it away from children, and lock it out before it goes into a bag. Follow the maker’s manual for charging the built-in lithium battery.
Limitations and Compromises
At 7.02 oz it is heavy for a pocket light, the top output is a short burst, and it is sold by a third-party seller rather than Nitecore directly.
