Best For / Skip If
Best for: hikers, boaters and volunteers who want search-class reach in the lightest package, with full waterproofing.
Skip if: you want a proven favorite — the Olight Marauder Mini 2 has 4.7 stars from 403 ratings.
Safety Features
Nitecore lists two lockout modes and a proximity sensor that cuts output when something sits right in front of the lens — useful because a light this bright can scorch fabric or paper held against it. The IP68 rating means it is sealed against dust and immersion.
Safety first: at these outputs the head and body get hot within minutes, and the beam can dazzle at long range. Never point it at people, animals, drivers or aircraft, keep it away from children, and lock it out before it goes into a bag. Follow the maker’s manual for charging the built-in lithium battery.
Limitations and Compromises
Only 54 ratings, averaging 3.8 stars, so there is less buyer feedback than for any other pick. It is sold by a third-party seller. At $159.95 it costs more than the brighter WUBEN X1 Pro.
