Why We Picked It
Most under desk laptop mounts are three identical brackets. VIVO’s MOUNT-UDLS1 is a matched set instead: a left bracket, a right bracket and a back bracket. You place the side brackets to suit the width of your laptop, tablet or dock, and the back bracket stops the device from sliding too far in. VIVO publishes an 11 lb weight rating, which many cheaper mounts do not.
Built for Docking Stations
VIVO pitches this mount as an under desk docking solution. Because there is no front bracket, the front edge of the device stays clear, so you can slide a laptop in and out or reach a dock’s front ports without unscrewing anything. The anti-skid padding on the brackets keeps the device from shifting and protects its finish.
Installation
The set fixes with five screws into the underside of the desktop. VIVO asks you to measure first: the desk needs to be at least 0.75 inch thick to anchor the screws properly. The whole set weighs 1.1 lb.
Limitations and Compromises
VIVO does not list a maximum device thickness, so check the bracket depth against a thick dock before you buy. It is a drill-in mount, so it is not for rented furniture. And with no front lip, a device on a desk that gets bumped hard relies on the padding to stay put.
Who Should Buy It?
- You want to space the brackets around a specific laptop or dock
- You want a published weight rating (11 lb)
- You want quick front access with no bracket in the way
- You like buying from an established desk-mount brand
Look elsewhere if you want a sliding tray (the JINGCHENGMEI), a no-drill clamp shelf (the BYMECOST no-drill) or the best-reviewed bracket set (the IFCASE).
