Why It Suits Large Hands
The M575S is the cheapest way to stop moving your arm. The thumb drives the ball, the hand stays put, and Logitech says the shape gives 25% less forearm muscle strain and a better forearm posture; it was developed with Logi Ergo Lab experts and certified by ergonomists.
For large hands, its 134 x 100 mm body is as long as the MX Ergo S and a little wider, so a big palm is supported without stretching. Logitech calls it a good fit for most hand sizes.
This listing is the current M575S, which adds quiet clicks and the Logi Bolt receiver. It has the highest Amazon rating in our comparison (4.5 stars from 2,417 ratings).
Battery and Connection
It runs on one AA battery (included) for up to 18 months by Logitech’s estimate, and pairs over Bluetooth or the included Logi Bolt receiver. Older pages quoted 24 months for the original M575; the M575S listing says 18.
Cursor speed is adjustable from 100 to 2,000 DPI in Logi Options+, which also maps the three customizable buttons.
Limitations and Compromises
- No tilt adjustment, unlike the MX Ergo S plate.
- No rechargeable battery and no Easy-Switch between computers.
- Like any trackball, it takes a week or two to learn and the ball needs cleaning now and then.
Who Should Buy It?
- First-time trackball users
- Large hands with shoulder or forearm fatigue
- Small desks and anyone who wants to work without moving the arm
Skip it if you want a tilt adjustment, rechargeable battery or multi-device switching (see the MX Ergo S), or if you game. See every pick side by side in our ergonomic mouse for large hands roundup.
