Everything You Need, Nothing Else
For $16.99 the EK6002 covers the basics a coffee recipe needs: tare, a built-in timer and tenth-of-a-gram readout from 0.3 g up to 3,000 g, which is enough for a large Chemex batch. The back-lit reverse LCD is easy to read, the keys are touch-activated and a waterproof silicone pad protects the ABS top.
Ready Out of the Box
Batteries are included, there is a low-battery reminder, and the scale switches off after 120 seconds idle. That short auto-off is the one quirk to know: on a long pour-over, keep the timer running or the scale may switch off between pours.
Limitations and Compromises
No flow rate, no automatic timer and no rechargeable battery. The 120-second auto-off is the shortest in our roundup. The listing does not publish the scale’s dimensions.
Who Should Buy It?
- You want your first coffee scale for under $20
- You brew large batches up to 3 kg
- You want batteries in the box
Look elsewhere if you want an auto timer (the Maestri House S2) or flow rate (the RENPHO, about $3 more).
SoftPickr Verdict
