Dimex Chair Mat for Low Pile Carpet with Lip — Made in USA, Cleated Back, 36 x 48 In, Clear

Dimex Chair Mat with Lip Review (2026)

The Dimex Chair Mat with Lip scores 8.3/10 and is the best made-in-USA mat in our desk chair mat roundup: a clear 36 x 48 inch mat with a 20 x 10 inch lip and a cleated backing for low-pile carpet, with more than 19,000 Amazon ratings.

This review is research-based: every specification below comes from the live Amazon listing, checked on 7 October 2026, and the verdict weighs those specifications against the other mats in our best desk chair mat (2026) roundup. We did not use the product ourselves.

Key Specifications

The Lip Is the Point

The Dimex is the only mat in our roundup with a lip: a 20 x 10 inch tongue on a 36 x 48 inch rounded rectangle that reaches under the desk, where your chair and feet go when you pull in close. On carpet that is where wear shows first. The underside is cleated to grip carpet and the top is smooth so the chair moves easily.

Made in the USA, Widely Owned

Dimex says the mat is manufactured in the USA, and with 19,154 ratings when we checked on 7 October 2026 it has the second-largest owner base in the roundup, behind only the MuArts. At $44.99 it was also the least expensive of our five picks. Dimex sells it for small to mid-size work areas such as an apartment, dorm or home office.

Limitations and Compromises

It is for low-pile carpet only, its 4.1-star average is the lowest of our five picks, and the bullets do not publish its thickness or a weight limit. PVC is softer than glass or the thicker MuArts, so heavy users may see caster marks over time.

Who Should Buy It?

• You have low-pile carpet
• You want coverage under the desk
• You prefer a US-made mat
• Your budget is under $50

Look elsewhere if you have hard floors (the MuArts), want a mat that never dents (the Vitrazza) or a larger 46 x 60 inch carpet mat (the SALLOUS).
