MaxGear 2 Inch Office Chair Replacement Caster Wheels — 11mm Stem, Set of 5

MaxGear 2-Inch Office Chair Wheels Review (2026)

The MaxGear 2-Inch scores 7.9/10 and is the cheapest like-for-like replacement in our office chair wheels roundup: five 2-inch soft-rubber casters with an 11 mm stem for $8.99, rated 4.6 stars from 4,137 Amazon ratings — the fix for a chair whose original wheels have cracked.

This review is research-based: every specification below comes from the live Amazon listing, checked on 8 October 2026, and the verdict weighs those specifications against the seven other caster sets in our best office chair wheels comparison. We did not use these wheels ourselves.

Key Specifications

A Like-for-Like Fix

Not every chair needs an upgrade. If one caster has cracked or the set has started squeaking, MaxGear’s 2-inch wheels are close to the size most chairs ship with, cost $8.99 for five and use built-in precision ball bearings with soft rubber treads that the listing says protect hardwood, laminate, tile and slate.

Read the Limits

MaxGear’s listing is unusually blunt. The stem is 11 mm only — it will not fit 10 mm stems or most IKEA chairs — and the set is rated to 300 lb for all five, less than half the 650 lb of the rollerblade sets. It is also marked not recommended for thick or tall carpet.

Limitations and Compromises

300 lb for the set is the lowest rating here, so heavier users should look at the 650 lb sets. Small 2-inch wheels struggle on carpet. It restores a chair rather than changing how it rolls.

Who Should Buy It?

• Anyone fixing a cracked or squeaky stock caster cheaply
• Hard floors only
• Chairs with an 11 mm stem

Skip it if you weigh close to the limit, work on carpet, or want the smoother roll of a 3-inch polyurethane wheel.

SoftPickr Verdict

The MaxGear 2-Inch scores 7.9/10 as our cheapest like-for-like replacement. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $8.99 on 8 October 2026 and the live listing is the only accurate source. Before you order any replacement caster, pull one old wheel out and check the stem: most chairs use 7/16 x 7/8 inch (11 x 22 mm), IKEA chairs usually do not.
