AGPtEK Locking Office Chair Casters with Brake — 2.5 Inch, Heavy Duty, Set of 5

AGPtEK Locking Office Chair Wheels Review (2026)

The AGPtEK Locking scores 8.2/10 and is the best pick with brakes in our office chair wheels roundup: five 2.5-inch casters that each carry a brake, the standard 7/16 x 7/8 inch stem and precision ball bearings, rated 4.5 stars from 1,308 Amazon ratings.

This review is research-based: every specification below comes from the live Amazon listing, checked on 8 October 2026, and the verdict weighs those specifications against the seven other caster sets in our best office chair wheels comparison. We did not use these wheels ourselves.

Key Specifications

Why Locking Wheels

Smooth polyurethane wheels have a side effect on hard floors: the chair rolls away when you sit down or lean back. AGPtEK’s set puts a brake on every one of the five 2.5-inch casters, so you can stop the chair rolling when you want it parked — useful at a standing-desk station, for a drafting stool or for anyone who uses the chair as a step to get up.

Fit and Install

The stem is the standard 7/16 inch (11 mm) by 7/8 inch (22 mm) size, and the listing says the set is not compatible with IKEA chairs. Installation is the usual push-in swap, and AGPtEK includes a screwdriver to help. The listing says the wheels protect hardwood, tile and carpet and roll quietly on precision ball bearings.

Limitations and Compromises

No weight rating appears in the bullets. Each brake has to be set by hand, five times, so it is a parking brake rather than an automatic lock. At 2.5 inches the wheels are smaller than the 3-inch rollerblade sets, which matters on carpet.

Who Should Buy It?

• Hard floors where the chair rolls away too easily
• Standing-desk setups and drafting stools
• Anyone who wants the chair to stay put when they sit down

Skip it if you never need the chair to stay still, if you need a published weight rating, or for IKEA chairs.

SoftPickr Verdict

The AGPtEK Locking scores 8.2/10 as our best with brakes. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $29.99 on 8 October 2026 and the live listing is the only accurate source. Before you order any replacement caster, pull one old wheel out and check the stem: most chairs use 7/16 x 7/8 inch (11 x 22 mm), IKEA chairs usually do not.
