DXstring Christmas Projector Lights — 12 Christmas Patterns, IP65, Remote and Timer

DXstring 12-pattern Christmas projector Review (2026)

The DXstring projector scores 8.0/10 and is our budget pick: 12 Christmas patterns including snowmen, Santa and reindeer, 5 modes, an IP65 housing, a remote with a 0.5 to 10 hour timer and up to 3,900 sq ft of coverage, for $25.99.

This review is research-based: every specification below comes from the live Amazon listing, and the verdict weighs those specifications against the other picks in our best Christmas light projector for outdoors comparison.

Key Specifications

The Most Christmas Patterns for the Money

At $25.99 the DXstring is the cheapest pick here, and it carries the most Christmas pictures: 12 patterns including a snowman, Christmas tree, bell, Santa Claus, starry sky, stocking and reindeer. Five display modes (static, auto, flashing and others) and three color options (red, green, or red and green alternating) let you change the look through the season.

A Timer With Real Choices

The remote works from up to 50 ft and has a one-touch timer with 0.5, 3, 5, 8 and 10 hour settings, the widest choice in our comparison. DXstring says it can be set to come on at dusk and go off at dawn. One small note from the listing: remove the clear insulating sheet from the remote before first use.

Weatherproof and Cold-Rated

The housing is IP65 (rain- and snow-proof), with a working range of -22°F to 86°F, the coldest rating in this group, which suits northern winters. A high-temperature sensor shuts it down automatically if it overheats.

Coverage

DXstring quotes up to 50 ft of reach and 3,900 sq ft of coverage, and the head adjusts through 180°. It can go on a ground stake, a wall plate, or straight on the ground.

Limitations and Compromises

The rating base is smaller than the others (4.2 stars from 234 ratings). The listing says 12 patterns in one line and “16 patterns are displayed alternately” in the same bullet, so expect 12 and treat anything more as a bonus. The power cord length is not published.

Setup and Maintenance

Remove the remote’s insulating sheet, stake the projector up to 50 ft from the wall, choose a pattern, mode and color, and set the timer for the hours you want it on.

Who Should Buy It?

• You want the most Christmas pictures for the least money
• You live somewhere cold: rated down to -22°F
• You want the most timer choices
• You want IP65 weatherproofing on a budget

Look elsewhere if you want the largest owner-rating base (the Star Shower or TOFU), or a softer snowfall look (the PEIDUO).

SoftPickr Verdict

The DXstring scores 8.0/10. It is the best budget Christmas light projector for outdoors, with 12 patterns, IP65 and a flexible timer for $25.99, held back by a smaller rating base and a muddled listing. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $25.99 at the time of writing and the live listing is the only accurate source.
