Charging Built In
The meatanty adds a wireless charging area, rated at up to 15W, on the top of the stand, so a phone charges where you can see it. The front has four USB ports that work as a hub with data transfer, which puts a flash drive or a phone cable within reach instead of behind the computer. That is the reason to pay four times the price of a plain riser.
Two Small Drawers
Two pull-out drawers measure 5.9 by 6.1 by 1.3 inches each. That is room for USB sticks, a hard drive, pens and clips, not for paper or a notebook. The powder-coated metal frame is rated at 66 lb and for monitors up to 27 inches, including an iMac.
Owner Feedback
It has 590 ratings at 4.5 out of 5 when we checked. That is fewer than the plain stands in this comparison, which is normal for a niche, more expensive product, but enough to show it is not a new or untested listing.
Limitations and Compromises
The drawers are shallow (1.3 inches). The listing does not spell out how the USB hub and the charger are powered or connected, so check the product photos and Q&A before you buy. Meatanty says that if an iPhone is placed correctly but does not charge, a reboot can help, which hints at occasional charging quirks. It is the most expensive single-monitor stand here.
Who Should Buy It?
- You want a phone to charge on the stand
- You want USB ports at the front of the desk
- You have a monitor up to 27 inches or an iMac
- You keep small items like drives and pens in the drawers
Look elsewhere if you only need a drawer (the Simple Trending does that for a fraction of the price), want deeper drawers (the Zimilar takes letter paper), or want the same features for two monitors (the Vaydeer All-in-One, linked in our roundup).
SoftPickr Verdict
The meatanty Monitor Stand scores 8.2/10. It is a monitor stand, drawer unit, USB hub and phone charger in one, and it is rated for heavy screens. Buy it for the charging and the ports; for storage alone, the cheaper stands do more. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $89.99 at the time of writing and the live listing is the only accurate source.
