The MHW-3BOMBER 58.5mm Puck Screen scores 8.7/10 and is the best pick for 58 mm machines in our espresso puck screen roundup: a 0.8 mm dual-layer 304 stainless steel screen for 58 mm baskets that, per the listing, does not need a lower dose, with 4.7 stars from 1,037 Amazon ratings.

This review is research-based: every specification below comes from the live Amazon listing, checked on 9 October 2026, and the verdict weighs those specifications against the seven other screens in our best espresso puck screen comparison. We did not use this screen ourselves.

Key Specifications

Why It Stands Out

Most cheap 58 mm screens are 1.7 mm mesh discs that eat into headspace. MHW-3BOMBER's FG5590 is 0.8 mm, and the listing says plainly that at that thickness you should not have to reduce your coffee dose. It is a dual-layer design with a fine micro-mesh, which the brand says spreads water more evenly and helps reduce channeling. It sits in the same price band as Normcore with almost the same owner rating.

Fit and the Screw Warning

The 58.5 mm diameter is meant for standard 58 mm baskets — the size used by the Gaggia Classic Pro, Rancilio Silvia, E61 machines and Breville's dual boilers. The listing adds an honest warning: it is not recommended for group heads with an internal screw in the middle of the shower screen, because the screen can touch it. Look up at your group head before you order. MHW-3BOMBER also offers customer support for dialling in grind, dose and extraction, which is unusual at this price.

Limitations and Compromises

The internal-screw caution is the main one: check your shower screen first. The screen is 304 stainless steel, which is food-grade but slightly less corrosion-resistant than the 316 used by Normcore and NOTSEK. No warranty term is stated, and there is no storage stand in the box (MHW-3BOMBER sells a silicone holder separately).

Who Should Buy It?

• Owners of 58 mm machines such as the Gaggia Classic Pro
• Anyone who wants a thin screen without changing their dose
• Buyers who like brand support for dialling in

Skip it if your group head has a centre screw, if you have a Breville 54 mm machine (buy the 54 mm FG5591M listing or the Normcore) or a 51 mm De'Longhi (see CREMA 51mm).

SoftPickr Verdict

The MHW-3BOMBER 58.5mm Puck Screen scores 8.7/10 as the best pick for 58 mm machines in our espresso puck screen roundup. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $12.99 on 9 October 2026 and the live listing is the only accurate source. Before you order any puck screen, check your portafilter basket size: Breville machines use 54 mm baskets (53.3–53.5 mm screens), most De’Longhi machines 51 mm, and the Gaggia Classic Pro and other commercial-style machines 58 mm.
