Star Shower Ultra 9 Outdoor Laser Light Show — 9 Patterns, Remote, Up to 3,200 Sq Ft

Star Shower Ultra 9 Review (2026)

The Star Shower Ultra 9 scores 8.6/10 and is our best overall Christmas light projector for outdoors: nine laser patterns, three color combinations, motion or still, a remote and up to 3,200 sq ft of coverage for $44.99, from the best-known name in the category.

This review is research-based: every specification below comes from the live Amazon listing, and the verdict weighs those specifications against the other picks in our best Christmas light projector for outdoors comparison.

Key Specifications

Nine Patterns From One Box

Star Shower has made the laser light show a household name, and the Ultra 9 is its nine-pattern model. The listing says you can pick a new pattern every week or keep a favorite on for the whole season, and every pattern can run in motion or held still. That choice matters more than it sounds: moving points look lively from the street, while a still pattern reads as a calmer, twinkle-light wash on brick or siding.

Red, Green or Both

Three color combinations are available: red and green together, only red, or only green. Changing between them is a button press. There is no blue or white laser here, which keeps the look traditional. If you want a white snowfall or a full RGB show, the PEIDUO and LEDMall in this comparison are the ones to look at.

A Remote So You Stay Inside

The Ultra 9 ships with a remote control, which Star Shower pitches as the end of “braving the cold” to change settings. The listing does not describe a built-in timer, so plan on a plug-in outdoor timer or a smart plug if you want it on at dusk and off at bedtime.

Coverage

The listing title claims up to 3,200 sq ft. Star Shower does not publish the throw distance, the cord length or an ingress rating on the page we checked, so treat the coverage figure as the maximum and check the manual for placement advice.

Limitations and Compromises

The Ultra 9 is laser only: dots and patterned points, not recognizable pictures such as Santa or snowmen. For picture patterns, the TOFU or the DXstring are the better match. The spec sheet on Amazon is thin (no distance, cord length or waterproof rating published), and there is no timer mentioned in the listing.

Setup and Maintenance

Place the unit on a stake in the lawn, aim it at the front of the house, and choose a pattern, color combination and motion or still with the remote. Keep the beam on the house, not pointed at the sky.

Who Should Buy It?

• You want the best-known laser light show with the most pattern choice
• You like the traditional red and green look
• You want a remote in the box
• You want a strong owner rating: 4.4 stars from 1,781 ratings

Look elsewhere if you want Christmas pictures rather than laser dots (the TOFU), a timer built in (TOFU, LEDMall or PEIDUO), or white snowflakes (PEIDUO).

SoftPickr Verdict

The Star Shower Ultra 9 scores 8.6/10. It is the simplest way to cover a house front in moving red and green light, with nine patterns and a remote, and it is our best overall pick. Prices on Amazon move; the figure in this review was $44.99 at the time of writing and the live listing is the only accurate source.
